How do you restore a acer extensa 5420 to factory settings?

My family laptop is slow and has very little battery life. It runs on vista and I wanted to restore it. My parents said it was mine because they got a new laptop. Also on full battery it lasts 30 minutes but the battery is not a big deal because I was just going to sit on the couch.
