Theists: Would you still believe if...?

When ocean explorers in centuries past discovered new lands with new peoples and their gods was the faith of the Christians at the time shaken? No, they sent missionaries to try and convert them. I don't imagine it will be any different when we discover alien civilizations. I can only wonder that some fundie group hasn't already tried to hire the Arecibo telescope to send a digital copy of the Bible into space.
